Youth Ministries

Edgebrook Covenant Church Youth Group

Because we believe we are truly better together, and because we value collaboration and partnerships: beginning this fall (2020), the youth ministry of Edgebrook Covenant Church is partnering with the youth ministry of another church in our denomination, North Park Covenant Church. Our combined youth ministry offers Youth Groups for both Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12).

Middle School Youth Group meets on Wednesdays (6-7:30pm), and High School Youth Group on Sundays (6-7:30pm). Planned activities can vary but are designed for the students to have a place for fellowship, spiritual development, fun, as well as a place to bring their friends. You can find our events on the Edgebrook Covenant church calendar.

Youth Ministry Pandemic Accommodations / Protocols

We know that the pandemic has created a precarious situation for many families who participate in our Youth Ministry. It is our hope and our intention to continue to offer opportunities for ministry that remain safe and engaging. Currently, our Youth Groups meet in two formats: online (via Zoom) and in person (outdoors at North Park Covenant Church), alternating week to week. To check which format is meeting, please see the Edgebrook Covenant church calendar.

The following are the guidelines for all in-person Youth Group meetings:

  • Students will have their temperature checked when they arrive and must have a sub-99.4° temperature
  • Hand sanitizer will be given upon arrival
  • Masks must be worn at all times
  • 6-feet of distance must be maintained whenever possible
  • If the student or someone they live with has tested positive for COVID-19, we ask that they refrain from participating in events for a minimum of two weeks.
  • If the student has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been present at youth group or events, they must contact me ASAP in order to notify other students who may have been in contact

Covenant Youth Collision

In addition to our Youth Ministry partnership with North Park Covenant, we also partner with the Covenant Youth Collision (CYC). CYC has a variety of activities for Junior and Senior High students that occur once per month. Additionally, CYC offers a robust Discipleship Program that meets every Thursday.

Confirmation Class for Jr. High Students

Confirmation is a two year exploration for 7th and 8th grade students of God’s word, the history of the Christian faith and the importance of living a Christian life. This class uses materials produced by our denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church and is primarily taught by Pastor Greg with assistance from other staff or lay leaders. The focus of the class is two-fold: to explore anew the stories of the Christian faith from Scripture and the history of the Church and to develop spiritual friendships with pastors and mentors that encourage the student’s growth in discipleship in relationship to God, their own parents and family members, and this church community.

Summer & Winter Camps

Edgebrook Covenant Church strongly believes in the importance of Christian camping experiences for our youth and children. We have access to two superb camping facilities — Covenant Harbor in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin and Covenant Point in Iron River, Michigan — which are run and maintained by our regional camping foundation.  Exciting programs are available throughout the year for children and youth (from third grade through high school).  For more information, contact Mary Doucette, our camp advocate.

UNITE, the event formerly known as CHIC

UNITE is a triennial Christian conference for high school students, sponsored by The Evangelical Covenant Church.  For a week, our high school youth (grades 9-12) interact with teens from other Covenant churches around the country and around the world, attending workshops, worship services, concerts, and participating in a wide variety of sports and activities. All are designed to help teens incorporate God into their daily life, and strengthen their daily walk in faith.

*Due to the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, UNITE 2021 has been rescheduled for July 2022*

For details on any of our youth activities, please contact our Youth Minister Desiree Robertson.
